OPERA GALA | BRAY LIONS

Following a sell-out evening last year, Bray Lions present a return of its Opera Gala featuring Ireland’s Ross Scanlon, Jade Phoenix, Hannah O’Brien and Rory Dunne with Andrew Synnott at the piano.

The evening begins with a Prosecco Reception at Mermaid Arts Centre (presented by Duff’s Lounge and Bar) at 7pm followed by the concert at 8pm and concluding with ‘Apres Opera’ in Duff’s after the show. Enjoy an evening of popular arias and songs while supporting Bray Lions Club charity projects.

Hosted by Petroc Trelawney, Irish Heritage's Christmas by Candlelight Concert includes performances from Hannah, organist Jeremiah Stephenson, the Irish Heritage Christmas choir and much more.

Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets are priced at £20, which includes a wine reception and programme for the evening. Students and under 35s can opt for a discounted ticket of £5.

TEA WITH... CHRISTMAS SPECIAL RELAXED PERFORMANCE | CLONTER OPERA

Hannah joins tenor Jack Roberts to perform an hour of Christmas music, followed by traditional afternoon tea in the intimacy of the Ramsey Room at Clonter.

This is a ‘relaxed’ performance which was introduced to offer people in care homes, or for those being cared for at home, and their carers, something to go to together during the day. This opportunity has also been extended to those with other disabilities.

Doors open at 2.30pm, with performance starting at 3pm.

Hannah joins Gothic Opera to perform the role of Armgard in the UK’s first fully staged production of Offenbach’s Die Rheinnixen.

With a newly written arrangement for chamber orchestra, the production is set in the postwar chaos of the short-lived Weimar Republic, with visuals inspired by the dream factory of German expressionist cinema and the political poster art of the period.

Performances at 7.30pm on 30, 31 October & 1 November, and at 5pm 2 November.

Premiering at the Dublin International Film Festival, Hannah performs the role of Polly in a film adaptation of Kevin O’Connell’s contemporary opera Dreamcatchr.

Initially scheduled to premiere as a fully-staged production in March 2020, this was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the opera-turned-film was filmed entirely on location and in studio at the IADT campus later that year.

Dreamcatchr was conducted by Andrew Synnott and directed by stage director Hélène Montague and screen director John Comiskey.
