HANNAH O’BRIEN

“A RICH, VIBRANT TONE” SEEN AND HEARD INTERNATIONAL

Irish soprano Hannah O’Brien is a Wexford Festival Factory Artist for 2022/2023 and returns to the festival this season to sing the roles of Tatiana (L’Aube Rouge/Camille Erlanger) and Elvira (L'italiana in Algeri/Rossini) on the main stage, and Nella (Gianni Schicchi/Puccini) in WFO’s first community opera. 

Hannah is a recent alumna of the RNCM where she earned Distinction in her Postgraduate Diploma, studying under the tutelage of Elizabeth Ritchie. She previously studied at The Royal Irish Academy of Music with Sylvia O'Regan and Dr. Dearbhla Collins. 

Recent roles include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte/Mozart) with Clonter Opera, Mary Crawford (Mansfield Park/Dove) with RNCM Opera, Griselda (Cinderella/Alma Deutscher) at Wexford Festival Opera, and Polly in a film adaptation of Kevin O’Connell’s Dreamcatcher with RIAM Opera. Hannah was awarded the song prize at Northern Ireland Opera’s 2022 Glenarm Festival of Voice Competition and was subsequently invited back to perform the prestigious Londonderry Arms Recital in the 2023 festival.
